Mandatory internship
Applied AI Engineering Intern
A paid, remote placement for students who must complete a mandatory university internship in Türkiye. Explore AI, write code and turn a small problem into a working prototype, with a supervisor.
01About the role
A paid placement, agreed with your university.
This placement is for students who must complete a mandatory university internship in Türkiye. A placement depends on a suitable training plan, our capacity to supervise and your department's approval. Applying does not guarantee a place or an immediate start.
The internship is paid. Pay, duration, dates and working arrangements are agreed in writing before you start, in line with the applicable rules and your university's internship agreement.
The internship is remote. Your university must approve the placement, including remote work, and confirm insurance for the agreed dates before work begins.
02The work
From a small problem to a working demo.
Understand the problem
Map a business problem: its inputs, the workflow and the outputs it should produce.
Test prompts
Design prompts, compare the responses and build a small evaluation set to check accuracy.
Build a simple tool
Build a simple AI-assisted application or automation with code and APIs.
Learn the everyday tools
Work with Git, basic testing, documentation and a suitable cloud sandbox.
Show a working demo
Present your demo, explain your decisions and improve it with feedback.
Learn with a supervisor
Your assignment matches your level and the agreed internship scope. A named supervisor gives regular feedback; you will not own client delivery alone.
03Who should apply
Basic skills, and the curiosity to build on them.
At university
A university student (for example at Istanbul Technical University, İTÜ), ideally in Mathematics Engineering or Computer Engineering, with a mandatory internship still to complete.
Working English
Good enough to read documentation, write short notes and explain your approach.
Basic programming
Variables, conditions, functions and data flow in at least one language.
Interest in how software works
Familiarity with software products, and curiosity about how applications, APIs and databases work together.
Willingness to try and check
You ask questions, try unfamiliar tools and check what AI tools give you.
No professional experience or previous internship is required. Coursework and self-directed learning count.
04Helpful, not required
Useful extras, not a checklist.
A project you can explain
A university project, hackathon entry or personal experiment you can walk us through.
Some code and APIs
Some Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, Git, JSON or HTTP APIs.
A deployment platform
You have tried Azure, AWS, Google Cloud or another deployment platform.
AI and automation tools
You have used an AI assistant, a coding tool or an automation tool.
A public portfolio and cloud certifications are not required. We care about your contribution and how you learn.
05How it works
What happens after you apply.
01
Apply in English
Share your studies, required internship days, preferred dates and, if you like, a CV or project link.
02
Talk it through
Selected applicants discuss a project or learning exercise with us in a short conversation in English.
03
Work a small example
We may work a short fictional problem together; AI tools are welcome if you explain what you checked.
04
Agree the details
We agree the training plan, supervisor, pay and dates, then complete university paperwork and insurance checks.
The exercise is never unpaid client work. This internship does not guarantee a later job offer; graduates can join the Forward Deployed AI Engineer talent pool.
06Apply
Tell us about your studies and internship dates.
Include your university, department, year, required internship days, preferred dates, and whether your university accepts a remote internship and arranges insurance. Please do not upload identity documents or sensitive records.
